What is Place of Service?

Concept

Overview

Place of Service indicates where care is delivered. Common examples include office, home, and telehealth. Accurate place of service supports scheduling clarity and billing workflows.

When is it used?

Select place of service when:

  • Scheduling or editing an appointment
  • Documenting an encounter
  • Preparing information used in billing

Your clinic configures the available list. Do not invent codes that are not configured in FICE.
